Lionel Messi responds to Inter Miami fan protest

During the MLS match against Portland Timbers, Inter Miami fans staged a unique protest. The team's hardcore supporter group, La Familia, remained silent in the stadium until the 85th minute to express their dissatisfaction. They viewed the players' habit of heading straight to the locker room after games without approaching the stands as disrespectful. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
Fans from the stands called on the players in Spanish to show respect and acknowledge them. In this situation, Lionel Messi made a gesture of disapproval toward the stands, which further intensified the tension between the fans and the team. Although the match ended in a 2-0 victory for Inter Miami, the win was overshadowed by the disagreement.
After the match, team representatives reacted differently to the situation. One of the goalscorers, German Berterame, acknowledged that the fans were right and emphasized the importance of their support. Defender Facundo Mura tried to defuse the situation by stating that there is unity within the team and that they value the fans.
Interim head coach Guillermo Hoyos refrained from commenting directly on the conflict. It is expected that the Inter Miami management and players will take measures to improve relations with the fans and resolve the misunderstanding in the future.
