Barcelona has reached a final decision on Marc-André ter Stegen

Although Marc-André ter Stegen's contract with Barcelona is still ongoing, his sporting future at the club seems to be over. The Catalan club is ready to let the goalkeeper leave, but for now, a loan option is seen as the most logical path. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
According to the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, a permanent transfer for ter Stegen, who is under contract until 2028, is a very complex task. Due to the former captain's high salary and recent injuries, other clubs are unwilling to take such a financial risk.
Last summer, Barcelona signed Joan Garcia from Espanyol, making him the starting goalkeeper. Ter Stegen, following a back injury, went on loan to Girona in January to gain playing time. However, he only played two matches there before suffering a thigh injury, forcing him to miss the World Cup.
Reports suggest that once the goalkeeper recovers, Barcelona intends to loan him out again. The publication describes him as a "hot potato" in the squad. As with the agreement with Girona, the "Blaugrana" may be forced to pay a large portion of the 34-year-old goalkeeper's salary.
Ter Stegen was signed from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2014 for 12 million euros. He defended the honor of the Catalans for 12 years and won numerous trophies, but it seems the time has come for him to say goodbye to Barcelona.
