Deadline for Neymar: The fate of the Brazilian star is being decided

Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti has set a strict medical deadline for Neymar as he finalizes the squad for the World Cup. The Santos forward's participation in the tournament remains in doubt after he suffered a serious calf injury during the team's first training camp. The injury, sustained during sessions at the Granja Comary base, has alarmed the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). This is reported by Goal.com reports .

According to Globo, the CBF has temporarily closed a local diagnostic center to ensure the confidentiality of the star player's medical results. Initial examinations confirmed a grade two tear, which led to Neymar being sidelined from training and missing the friendly match against Panama. The recovery process is expected to take three to four weeks.

Nevertheless, the 34-year-old forward dismissed concerns about his physical condition. The star, who previously played for Barcelona and PSG, responded sharply to journalists' questions, insisting that everything is fine. According to Torcedores, Carlo Ancelotti spoke with the player personally, and Neymar is even willing to remain on the bench to help the team.

According to FIFA rules, an injured player can be replaced up to 24 hours before the start of the tournament. Therefore, the friendly match against Egypt in the USA on June 6 will serve as the final test for Neymar. If he is not ready by this match, he could be dropped from the squad. Brazil begins its campaign in Group G against Morocco.
