Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has made a surprising statement regarding the future of Brazilian star Vinicius Junior. The club chief stated that he would not stand in the player's way if he wishes to leave the Bernabeu. Currently, negotiations for a new contract between the forward and the club are progressing slower than expected, fueling various transfer rumors. This is reported by Goal.com .
In an interview with El Pais, Perez said: "There is still time to extend the contract. I would like him to stay with us for his entire career because he is completely integrated into the club. If he does not want to stay in Madrid and wishes to move to another team, he will be free to do so. I will not force him to do anything. Money has never been the most important factor."
The 25-year-old himself has noted that he is in no rush to sign a new deal, as there are many issues to discuss with the club. This indicates that negotiations regarding salary and status within the team are not yet concluded. Nevertheless, the relationship between the player and the management remains cordial.
Perez also dismissed rumors about rivalry between Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe. While some critics argue that the two stars cannot play in the same team, the president called it nonsense. "They are the two best players in the world. Vinicius won us two Champions League titles," added Florentino Perez.
Although Real Madrid's management considers Vinicius Junior the cornerstone of their project, the arrival of new stars has affected the internal financial hierarchy. Now, the parties continue to communicate to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
