Liverpool Closing In On Bradley Barcola Transfer

Liverpool have begun an active push to strengthen their squad with little time left before the summer transfer window closes. The club are making positive progress in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, but negotiations for his teammate Ibrahim Mbaye are facing serious financial obstacles, Goal.com reports .

According to reports from RMC Sport and L’Equipe, the proposed transfer of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool has entered a positive phase. However, signing 18-year-old Senegalese winger Ibrahim Mbaye has proved far more complicated than the English club expected.

Financial Disagreement

The Paris club’s management are demanding a huge €70 million fee to sell the young talent. During various negotiations, it emerged that the French champions value the player at between €70 million and €80 million.

According to Goal.com, although Liverpool have agreed personal terms with the player, the club have no intention of paying the price set by Paris Saint-Germain. The Merseyside club value Mbaye at around €50 million at most and are unwilling to increase their offer even to €60 million.

Because of the wide gap between the parties’ valuations, Liverpool have begun considering alternatives. In particular, the club are also monitoring Yankuba Minteh, who plays for Brighton.

Uncertain Situation And Players’ Status

Although two years remain on his current contract with Paris Saint-Germain, the club have allowed the player to leave. Nevertheless, the fixed asking price has led other suitors to assess the situation with caution and question whether the Paris club genuinely intends to sell him.

The uncertainty has negatively affected both players, who have expressed frustration at the transfer process dragging on for too long. Head coach Luis Enrique is expected to leave out both Barcola and Mbaye from the squad for Sunday’s match against Rennes. Their places are expected to be taken by new arrivals.

With only 10 days remaining before the transfer window closes, Mbaye could choose another club if the financial gap between the parties remains. Liverpool will either have to submit an improved offer for Mbaye or focus entirely on bringing Bradley Barcola to the squad.
