Liverpool Close In on Paris Saint-Germain Winger Ibrahim Mbaye

English club Liverpool have begun an active transfer-market campaign aimed at fundamentally reshaping their attack. According to RMC Sport, the Merseyside side are making serious efforts to sign Paris Saint-Germain's talented winger Ibrahim Mbaye. The Senegal international considers Liverpool's project a priority and has given a positive response to the transfer. Goal.com reports .

Liverpool's management are currently negotiating not only for Mbaye but also for his teammate Bradley Barcola. Despite making 30 appearances and scoring three goals for Paris Saint-Germain last season, Ibrahim has not been fully satisfied with his playing time. This factor, along with his limited opportunities in France, prompted the player to decide to leave the club.

Transfer Competition and Financial Terms

The Parisian club are demanding a €50 million fee to release their promising player. The price is justified by the footballer's impressive performances at the most recent World Cup, including his goal in the 3–1 victory over France. Paris Saint-Germain's management have indicated that they are ready to part ways with the player if a suitable offer arrives.

However, Liverpool are not the only contenders for the talented player. Other English giants, Tottenham and Manchester City, are also closely monitoring Mbaye's performances. Germany's Borussia Dortmund have also made initial enquiries about the player.

New Developments in the Negotiations

Ibrahim Mbaye's new agent, Jorge Mendes, and his Gestifute agency are playing an important role in the transfer process. It has emerged that the player was close to continuing his career in the Bundesliga, with an agreement with RB Leipzig nearly finalized. However, that deal also collapsed after another transfer, involving Ousmane Diomande's move to Paris Saint-Germain, fell through.

Liverpool are now in direct contact with the agency and are gaining an advantage in the negotiations. The head coach had repeatedly stressed the need to strengthen the flanks ahead of the new season. At press conferences, the manager openly stated that the team urgently needed new players, particularly in the winger position.

If Paris Saint-Germain sell Mbaye for around the stated €50 million, it will be another financial success for the club following Gonçalo Ramos's move to Milan. Liverpool, meanwhile, aim to further enhance their attacking power through these transfers.
