Apple is planning to introduce a new iPhone SE wallet phone soon, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reported, citing sources.

Apple is expected to introduce the device next week, February 10-16, and sales will begin in late February. According to sources, Apple will not hold a presentation dedicated to the launch of the cheaper version of the iPhone and will not present the device on its website.

Mark Gurman clarified that the new version of the iPhone SE will be similar to the iPhone 14. The phone will have a large screen, Face ID, an A18 chip, as well as a USB-S charging connector. This will be the first iPhone to have an Apple-developed cellular modem instead of a Qualcomm chip. The device will support Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence. The new iPhone SE will not have the “Home” button that is present in the current version of the device.

According to the author of Bloomberg, Apple stores in many regions of the United States have been running out of stock of the current version of the iPhone SE for several weeks. Meanwhile, the phone is still available on Apple's website, but some configurations, such as the red version with 256 gigabytes of memory, are not available - it will be available to the public after March. In addition, stocks of the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are running low in the US. Neither the iPhone SE nor the iPhone 14 are available in the European Union countries, as they do not meet local regulations, which require the charging port to be USB-S.

The price of the new iPhone SE is still unknown. The current version of the base model costs $ 429.

Apple is likely to increase the price of the device as it adds new features and a refreshed design, but Gurman said the price will likely stay around $500.

An Apple representative declined to comment.

The iPhone SE is Apple's entry-level iPhone model, first introduced in 2016. The previous version of the phone, released in 2022, was the only iPhone without a Home button and Face ID.

The removal of the button on the iPhone SE would mean Apple would completely abandon the popular interface of the first iPhone, introduced in 2007, according to Bloomberg.

Gurman said Apple plans to introduce the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro in 2025, including an ultra-thin version, although the launch date is still unknown. In addition, on February 11, the presentation of the new PowerBeats Pro 2 headphones will take place, which will be Apple's first headphones with a built-in heart rate monitor. Also in the first half of the year, the company is expected to introduce a new MacBook Air with an M4 chip, a cheaper iPad, and an updated iPad Air model.
