General Motors car owners have encountered an unexpected issue—Apple CarPlay no longer supports wireless connections. The only way to use the system now is through a cable connection.
Many users report that CarPlay no longer starts automatically after the engine is turned on, and the multimedia system fails to recognize the iPhone. Manual pairing attempts are unsuccessful, and in some cases, the connection drops immediately. The only current solution is to use a cable, which restores CarPlay functionality but removes the convenience of a wireless connection.
General Motors has officially acknowledged the problem and stated that it is working with Apple to resolve the issue. However, there is no clear timeline for a fix.
This issue is particularly concerning as GM has already started phasing out CarPlay and Android Auto in its latest models, starting with the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV. The company plans to replace them entirely with its own Android Automotive-based system. While GM claims this provides better vehicle integration, many users are unhappy with the change.
Some customers are even considering switching brands if GM completely drops CarPlay support. The big question remains: is this a technical glitch or part of GM’s long-term strategy? The answer should become clear in the coming months. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
