The startup Hawcx has introduced a new password-free authentication technology, designed to overcome passkeys' limitations.
Founded in 2023 by Riya Shanmugam, a former employee of Adobe, Google, and New Relic, Hawcx aims to replace traditional passwords with a new authentication system.
Unlike existing methods, Hawcx does not store or transmit private keys. Instead, a new key is generated for each login session and is never saved, making it compatible even with older devices.
Hawcx is positioning itself as a universal authentication platform, planning integrations for document verification, video authentication, and background checks. The startup has already secured $3 million in funding and is preparing pilot projects with banks and gaming companies.
This innovation enhances security while simplifying the authentication process.
