Chinese startup Dobot has introduced a new humanoid robot called Atom, which can skillfully repeat human movements, Kyodo News reports. The robot has high accuracy and autonomy in performing household tasks.
Atom's capabilities
Videos published by Dobot show Atom performing various tasks independently. He can do things like prepare breakfast, pour tea, lift large boxes, and carry a file folder. These abilities make him a useful assistant in both the home and work environment.
Technical characteristics of the robot
Atom stands out from other humanoid robots with its innovative hands. The robot has 28 degrees of freedom, and its movements are performed with an accuracy of 5 millimeters. This allows it to successfully perform tasks that require high precision.
The robot is also equipped with energy-saving technologies. It reduces energy consumption by 42 percent by walking with straight knees and can move on various surfaces while maintaining balance. Dobot Atom has a modern computing system, which can return data 7.7 times faster than standard robots and is able to independently adapt to unstructured environments.
Specific technical parameters
- Height: 153 cm
- Weight: 62 kg
- Degrees of freedom: 28
- Accuracy: 5 mm
- Energy saving: 42%
Planned production
Dobot plans to mass produce Atom from mid-2025. The robot's initial price is set at $27.5 thousand, and it is already possible to pre-order it.
Developments in robotics
Earlier, Japanese manufacturers also presented a humanoid robot designed to care for the elderly. This 150-kilogram robot can perform tasks such as turning patients over to prevent bed sores, helping them sit up, folding clothes and even frying eggs.
The introduction of Dobot Atom could usher in a new era in humanoid robotics. Such innovations, aimed at making human life easier and increasing work efficiency, will define the future of technology. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
