Google Maps on iPhone gets smarter with photo-based search
Google has updated its Google Maps app for iPhone, adding a new feature that makes trip planning easier, Pepelac.news reported.

With the update, users can now save places directly from photos on their phones into Google Maps lists. This eliminates the need to take notes or sift through images trying to remember locations.

The feature, called “screenshot list,” is enabled through settings. It uses artificial intelligence to scan images, recognize place names, and allow users to save them into a special list. These places will then appear on the map and can be shared with travel companions.

The feature is currently available to iPhone users in the U.S., and it will roll out to Android devices in the near future.

This is part of Google’s broader push to enhance trip planning using AI.
