Joby Aviation has reached a deal to acquire the ride-share business of Blade Air Mobility, according to TechCrunch.com.
The acquisition gives Joby access to Blade’s passenger transport infrastructure in major cities like New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, supporting its push to scale urban air mobility.
The deal includes Blade’s direct-to-consumer services, such as Blade Airport and Blade MediMobility, which will now operate under Joby’s control.
Joby plans to integrate its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft technology into this expanded service network.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2025. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
Experts view the move as a strategic step to strengthen Joby’s position in the growing air mobility market.
