In the near future, Apple may break its long-standing tradition and enter the mid-range market. According to Rozetked, the company is developing a budget MacBook model powered by the A18 Pro mobile chip. The new laptop will feature a 12.9-inch display and is expected to be priced around $600–$700 (approximately 6.6–7.7 million UZS).
Reports indicate that the main target audience for this MacBook is users with limited budgets. This product is not intended for the education market — where iPads and Chromebooks compete — but for the general public. Apple has not released such an affordable laptop for more than 10 years — even the cheapest MacBook Air currently starts at $999.
The budget MacBook will be manufactured by Taiwan’s Quanta Computer. Production of some components will begin by the end of the current quarter, with a full presentation planned for early 2026.
