Nvidia, Google, and Bill Gates participated in raising $863 million for the startup Commonwealth Fusion Systems, TechCrunch reported.
The company is developing nuclear fusion technology with the goal of creating a clean and sustainable energy source in the future. This funding round is the largest in the startup’s history.
Investors include Breakthrough Energy, Bill Gates, Google, Nvidia, and other venture firms. The funds will primarily go toward building a demonstration reactor and scaling the technology.
