US court allows remote hacking of Telegram

US court authorized remote access to Telegram

The US prosecutor's office obtained court permission for remote access to Telegram servers as part of an investigation into child exploitation, Rozetked reported.

According to the documents, the prosecutor's office intends to use "remote search technology" by sending special messages to the servers to obtain information from the suspect's account. It is planned to acquire information about communications and the account through this method.

However, the Telegram company announced that such actions are not possible. According to them, even their own engineers cannot access messages on the server. The reason is that Telegram servers are strongly encrypted, and there is no practical way to break this encryption.

The company also emphasized that it has always rigorously fought against harmful content and complied with all legal requests from the US, including providing criminals' IP addresses and phone numbers.
