OpenAI’s Sora app has surpassed ChatGPT in number of downloads. According to Appfigures, the app was downloaded 627,000 times in just the last 7 days, while ChatGPT was installed 606,000 times during the same period, reports Rozetked.me.
At the same time, Sora is currently available only on the App Store for the US and Canada region, and access is provided only via invite — meaning users receive limited invitations.
On its first day Sora was downloaded 55,600 times, which is lower than the initial day results of ChatGPT and Google Gemini (81,000 and 80,000 times, respectively).
OpenAI presented the Sora app along with its video creation model Sora 2. The main function of the app is the ability to share user-created videos in the format of a social network.
