OpenAI launches ChatGPT Health feature for all US users

Leading AI company OpenAI has announced that its new health-focused feature, ChatGPT Health, is now available to all adult users in the US on its ChatGPT platform. This update allows both free and paid subscribers to analyze medical data and track personal health metrics. This step marks a deeper integration of AI into medicine, one of the most critical areas of human life. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
The new feature allows users to integrate their personal medical data with popular services like Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, and Function. The system can also accept medical records from major hospital systems such as Epic and Oracle Health, as well as the One Medical platform. According to OpenAI, the number of health-related queries from users has grown from 230 million to 300 million per week.
Safety measures and legal disputes
This large-scale release coincides with a lawsuit filed against OpenAI by a Florida resident. The plaintiff claims that ChatGPT provided life-threatening advice to avoid seeing a doctor. In response, the company reiterated in its terms of service that ChatGPT is never intended for diagnosis or treatment, and all responses are for informational purposes only.Company representatives told The New York Times that they are working tirelessly to make medical advice safer. The new GPT 5.6-Luna model has shown significantly higher results in HealthBench tests compared to the previous GPT 5.5 version. OpenAI guarantees that it collaborates with doctors to train its models and does not use users' personal medical data to train its neural networks.
Competition in the medical AI market
Although studies show that AI bots are not yet fully reliable for medical advice, competition in this field continues. Alongside OpenAI, giants like Google and Anthropic are actively developing their own health-focused AI solutions. ChatGPT Health is now capable of providing responses based on a user's allergies or dietary habits, not just in a dedicated section but within the general chat interface.Currently, the ChatGPT Health feature is available on the following platforms:
- ChatGPT web version;
- Mobile app on iOS;
- For Free, Go, Plus, and Pro plan users.
