Elon Musk is in the spotlight with another innovative project. It was announced that his startup xAI launched a new platform called "Grokipedia." The new resource is presented as an online encyclopedia based on "truth-oriented" artificial intelligence. Reuters reported this.
Grokipedia is a new information platform expected to compete with Wikipedia. In it, artificial intelligence performs the process of verifying and editing data. This approach, unlike traditional encyclopedias, creates new opportunities for data analysis and evaluation.
According to representatives of xAI, the main goal of the Grokipedia project is to "revise human knowledge" and present it based on objective facts. However, experts note that some of the materials on the platform may reflect Musk's personal political position. For example, information on controversial topics such as the George Floyd case or climate change differs sharply from Wikipedia's materials.
Analysts say that although some of Grokipedia's content was copied from Wikipedia, the platform processes information through its algorithms and sorts facts and sources through an "intelligent filter." This can affect the content of the information and how it is presented.
Grokipedia's moderation system is entirely based on artificial intelligence, which seeks to evaluate data without human emotion. However, this method, according to some experts, can also lead to controversial approaches.
Elon Musk stated that through this project, he aims to ensure "politically neutral truth" in the information space. In his opinion, moderation through artificial intelligence can provide "objective and impartial" information rather than a subjective approach of people.
Grokipedia is currently in the trial phase and is only available to a limited number of users. However, xAI plans to launch the platform en masse in the coming months.
Experts assess this project as the beginning of a new era of competition between information sources on the Internet. According to them, if Grokipedia can present itself as an impartial and reliable source, it could seriously affect Wikipedia's global standing.
