
China's giant tech giant Alibaba unveiled its first AI-powered smart glasses, Quark AI Glasses, on November 27th. It was released in two versions: the S1 and the lightweight G1 models.
According to Wu Jia, Vice President of the company, smart glasses are a revolutionary technology that takes communication between humans and computers to a new level.
The S1 model is available for 3,799 yuan ($537) and features a Snapdragon AR1 processor, real-time translation, navigation, and answering questions.
The G1 model starts at 1899 yuan ($268) and is presented as a lightweight version weighing 40 grams.
Quark AI Glasses is expected to become a serious competitor to rival glasses like Meta Ray-Ban Display, Rokid, and Xiaomi. Alibaba's device is currently equipped with a monochrome display.
The gadget has already been put up for sale through Taobao, JD.com, and Dowyin, but plans to launch it internationally are not yet known.
