Kaspersky Lab conducted a comprehensive analysis of big data leaks and determined which word is used more frequently in passwords, RT reports. Interestingly, this trend has become very romantic.
The most popular choice of users when creating passwords is love. The study also showed that every tenth user associates their code with dates from 1990 to 2025. In this background, the combination 12345 stands out. Such simple variants are, of course, easy to remember, but breaking them also does not cause difficulties for criminals.
Another interesting pattern is the active use of personal names and country names. It seems that users are forgetting the basic principles of cybersecurity and trying to insert something important for themselves into passwords. Why do people continue to choose such unreliable passwords? Psychologists explain this by the desire for simplicity and emotional attachment. It's easier to remember things that have personal significance.
