Xiaomi introduced an AI-powered lock

Xiaomi has unveiled the Smart Door Lock G100, a new smart home device focused on stronger security and faster access. The model uses a C-grade lock cylinder with a direct-insert mechanism designed to resist forced entry. It also includes sensors that warn the owner if the door is left ajar, along with protection against drilling and tampering. For emergencies, the lock offers a special duress fingerprint feature that can quietly send an alarm signal. Reports Mobile-review.com.

The standout feature of the new model is its fingerprint recognition system powered by artificial intelligence. Xiaomi says the lock can identify a fingerprint in just 0.5 seconds with 99.29% accuracy. The self-learning system is also designed to improve speed and stability over time. In total, users get nine unlocking methods, including Bluetooth, NFC, a physical key, and several password options such as permanent, temporary, and one-time codes.

The Smart Door Lock G100 also supports Xiaomi smartphones, smartwatches, and fitness bands through NFC. It connects to the HyperOS Connect ecosystem and can be managed through the Mijia app, where users can view visit history, share access, and set up automation scenarios like turning on hallway lights when the door opens. Xiaomi says the device uses a financial-grade security chip for encrypted communication and local data storage. The lock runs on four AA batteries for up to 12 months and includes a USB-C port for emergency power. Its price is set at 1,099 yuan.
