Which state-owned companies are leading in Uzbekistan's IT sector?

As of March 1, 2026, there are 1,242 foreign enterprises operating in the information and communications sector of Uzbekistan. The National Statistics Committee released these latest figures, highlighting the growing international presence in the local tech industry.

Russian companies hold the largest share with 457 enterprises currently active in the country. Kazakhstan follows with 113 companies, while Belarus ranks third with 63 firms. Other notable contributors include the United States with 58 companies, Turkey with 51, and China with 40. The remaining foreign presence is made up of businesses from the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Tajikistan, South Korea, and various other nations.

In addition to the number of companies, the total volume of information and communication services reached 14.776 trillion soums during January and February of 2026. Computer programming services accounted for the largest portion of this revenue, making up 46 percent of the total volume. Telecommunication services contributed 31.2 percent, followed by information services at 14.3 percent and publishing services at 6.3 percent.
