Russian cosmonauts to train on VR simulators starting from 2027

A modern space simulator designed for training crews of the new Russian Orbital Station (ROS) is being developed in Russia. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027 and will be based entirely on domestic technologies. Ixbt.com reports on this.
Specialists from the Institute of Automation and Electrometry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences are working on the system in cooperation with the "Softlab-Nsk" company. The project utilizes virtual reality (VR) technologies to model flight conditions and control processes.
The developers state that the new complex will significantly surpass the simulators used for International Space Station (ISS) missions. Specifically, the system will feature more advanced graphics and a unique architecture, operating at a frequency of 50 Hz.
The project stipulates that all components are to be manufactured in Russia. This will allow for a reduction in dependence on foreign technologies.
The full launch of the Russian Orbital Station is planned for 2034.
