First test flight of Soyuz-5 rocket conducted from Baikonur Cosmodrome

Kazakhstan has joined the club of spacefaring nations with the launch of the medium-class "Soyuz-5" launch vehicle. Roscosmos head Dmitry Bakanov announced this during the rocket's flight. This was reported by Ixbt.com xabar.

Kazakhstan is a partner in Russia's "Baiterek" project. Prior to the flight, this project underwent significant modernization.

Dmitry Bakanov: "A monumental event has taken place. This is an interstate project.

The rocket was created and successfully launched in accordance with the President's directive. We congratulate our Kazakh partners on joining the club of spacefaring nations," he emphasized.

The Ministry of Digital Development of Kazakhstan described the first successful flight of the "Soyuz-5" rocket as a new era for Kazakh cosmonautics.

As a reminder, the first test flight of the "Soyuz-5" rocket was conducted from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on April 30. The first and second stages of the rocket operated in standard mode, and the mock-up landed in the Pacific Ocean.

"Soyuz-5" rocket stands 65.2 meters tall and has a launch mass of 531 tons. It has a payload capacity of 17 tons and is designed to deliver spacecraft into Earth's orbit with high precision.
