Starlink launches satellite internet in Papua New Guinea

Starlink has announced the launch of its satellite internet service in Papua New Guinea. High-speed, low-latency connectivity is now fully available to the entire population of this region. This was reported by Ixbt.com xabar.
Papua New Guinea is located in Oceania and has a population of nearly 11 million people. The country is home to more than 800 tribes speaking hundreds of different languages.
Currently, Starlink provides services to over 10 million active users in approximately 160 countries and territories. In 2025, the company recorded high growth rates, launching an average of more than 70 satellites into orbit per week.
The network is also expanding in the aviation sector. Worldwide, 34 airlines have connected to satellite internet for passengers, with 21 of them signing contracts within the last three months.
SpaceX plans to increase equipment production to 50,000 kits per day in 2026. In the first quarter of 2025, this figure stood at 15,000 kits per day.
Additionally, the company is working on a new generation of stations that will significantly increase internet speeds.
