Intel makes a major investment in quantum technology

The Dutch company QuantWare has announced the completion of a major $176 million investment round. These funds will be directed toward the development of the VIO-4K quantum processor, which is expected to have a capacity of 10,000 qubits. New investors include prestigious organizations such as Intel Capital, In-Q-Tel, and ETF Partners. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
Company representatives state that the VIO-4K will be the most powerful and energy-efficient quantum processor in its history. It is expected to be 100 times more scalable than current advanced market solutions. It is also noted that the VIO architecture will be presented as an open platform.
QuantWare is also currently working on the KiloFab project. This will be the world's largest specialized factory designed for manufacturing quantum processors with open architecture. The launch of this facility will allow the company to increase its production capacity by 20 times.
Currently, QuantWare has delivered its solutions to over 50 customers in 20 countries. According to the company's plans, the first VIO-4K processors should be released to the market by 2028.
