Huawei Mate 90 smartphones will feature an under-display fingerprint scanner

Huawei has decided to abandon the traditional side-mounted fingerprint scanner in its upcoming flagship Huawei Mate 90 series. The company is working on implementing more modern ultrasonic sensor technology in these devices. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .

According to information shared by insider SmartPikachu, the Huawei Mate 90 series smartphones, expected to be unveiled in 2026, will be equipped with this advanced solution. Until now, Huawei had been integrating the fingerprint scanner into the power button across many generations of smartphones.

Ultrasonic sensors use high-frequency sound waves to create a detailed 3D image of the user's fingerprint. This technology allows for more precise recording of all ridges and pores of the finger, which significantly increases the level of security.

Also, initial information about the Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max model suggests that the smartphone could be equipped with a 10x periscopic camera and an additional telephoto lens. SmartPikachu is known for previously providing accurate information about devices such as Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Xiaomi Pad 6.
