Anthropic overtakes OpenAI in number of business customers

According to new AI index data released by fintech company Ramp, Anthropic has surpassed OpenAI in the number of business customers for the first time. 34.4% of companies in the study are paying for Anthropic services, while OpenAI's share stands at 32.3%, reports Techcrunch.com. reports .

Ramp economist Ara Kharazian notes that Anthropic has gained leadership in high-demand sectors such as finance, technology, and professional services. While OpenAI still maintains an edge in other industries, the gap has narrowed significantly in recent months.

This statistic is based on data from over 50,000 companies and serves as a key indicator of the overall market state. Data from the OpenRouter platform also confirms this trend, highlighting Anthropic's rapid recent growth.

In May of last year, the share of businesses using Anthropic services was only 9%, but within 12 months, this figure grew by 26%. During the same period, OpenAI's share decreased by 1%, while the total number of companies using AI products increased by 9%.

Experts attribute Anthropic's success to its strategy initially targeting technical specialists and the introduction of effective tools like Claude. Although it is unclear if this lead will be sustained long-term, it is clear that the company's chosen path is yielding results.
