Apple to rename its tablets to iPad Neo

Apple is reportedly planning to rebrand its entry-level tablet lineup, moving away from traditional generation numbering in favor of the name "iPad Neo." This shift aligns with a broader strategy to simplify product identification, mirroring rumored naming conventions for upcoming MacBook and iPhone models. While the new device is expected to retain its predecessor's 2022 design, it will likely feature a significant performance boost with the integration of the A18 chip. Industry insiders suggest the "iPad Neo" could be officially unveiled during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.
Apple is working on renaming its main iPad tablet lineup. According to reports, the next base model is expected to be called not simply iPad, but iPad Neo. This was reported by Iguides.ru reported.
The company had already abandoned the generation-numbering system, starting with the version equipped with the A16 chip. Although this made it easier for users to understand the specifications, it somewhat complicated the device's market positioning.
Apple top managers, citing the MacBook Neo and iPhone 16e as examples, explain that the brand is now focusing on short names that better reflect the product's essence rather than numbers. This strategy will also be applied to the tablet lineup.
The new iPad Neo model is expected to retain the 2022 design, but be equipped with a more powerful A18 processor. The device's official presentation may take place at the WWDC conference in June.
