The President said that it is necessary to create an opportunity for the administration of justice

On March 5, an expanded meeting was held under the chairmanship of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the activities of the National Anti-Corruption Council. At the meeting, the head of state emphasized the need to constantly focus on preventing corruption threats in the judicial system and improving the quality and efficiency of justice.
The meeting noted that despite major reforms to ensure the independence of the courts, there are still cases of judges being summoned to sessions and being assigned tasks that are not within their authority. It was also noted that attempts by some agencies to influence the judiciary are still ongoing.
“I strongly warn all leaders. Any interference in the activities of the courts is considered to be a threat to the rule of law. "Both the inquiry and the responsibility for this will be strict," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
At the same time, it was noted that the role of lawyers in the implementation of fair trials is very important, and in this regard, it is necessary to create opportunities for lawyers to provide timely legal assistance to the citizen under their protection.
"The authorities have been instructed to introduce a draft law on eliminating the factors that hinder the activities of lawyers in providing quality legal assistance within three months," the presidential press service said.

"The effectiveness of our reforms directly depends, first of all, on the new generation, which is loyal, selfless and intolerant of corruption. In this matter, the upbringing of a young generation with a clear mind must become a priority," the president said.
To this end, it was emphasized that school principals should explain to our boys and girls, in simple language, such noble ideas as honesty and not betraying someone else's rights, within the framework of the Education subject.
Rectors should establish a system of supporting anti-corruption projects, startups and innovative initiatives of students and youth.
In general, it was emphasized that if a system is created that takes root in the hearts of the youth of New Uzbekistan based on the idea that "corruption is a threat to the future", then this will be the goal.
The President addressed public representatives and non-governmental organizations.
"The fight against corruption is a national task, the conscientious work of every patriotic compatriot. In general, no one should be left out of this process.
Therefore, we need to create even more conditions for intolerance towards corruption and involve the general public in this. First of all, we need to increase the activity of non-governmental organizations. This is the most correct way," the head of state said.
It was emphasized that it would be advisable for the parliament to establish close cooperation with non-governmental organizations and make full use of their capabilities.
For example, it was expressed confidence that if non-governmental organizations are involved in monitoring the requirements of the Convention on Combating Corruption, it would be very effective.
For these purposes, 10 billion soums are allocated annually to support new projects.
"To overcome corruption, we must first of all dry up its "roots" of excessive luxury and pomp.
The most sad thing is that famous people are becoming involved in this, and people are trying to "burn" themselves, hoping to be equal to them.
In this regard, it is also true that some leaders, instead of setting an example for everyone with their modest lifestyle, are becoming captives of such false values and seeking to earn illegal income," the president said.
Therefore, the head of state called on the parliamentary chambers, local councils, public representatives, heads of mahallas, and nuroni to work together on this issue and strengthen explanatory work among the population.
"If we all act as a single force in the fight against corruption, we will certainly achieve even greater positive results.
Therefore, mahalla activists, nuroni, intellectuals, writers and poets, artists and cultural workers, entrepreneurs, celebrities, leaders, deputies and senators - in general, the entire public should unite and view corruption as a "cancer in the body of society."
All the tasks that have been set with you today are aimed at working in this spirit and achieving concrete results.
I believe that you will deeply understand this truth and demand, show special dedication in implementing them, and become an example for everyone," President Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded his speech.
