The official date of Eid al-Fitr has not yet been confirmed in Uzbekistan. It will be determined by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan based on moon sighting, Uz24.uz reported.
Initially, Eid was expected to fall on Monday, March 31. However, neighboring countries — Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan — have declared Eid on Sunday, March 30, marking Ramadan as 29 days long.
If Uzbekistan also announces Eid for March 30, then according to Article 208 of the Labor Code, the holiday will be transferred from Sunday to Monday — making March 31 an official day off.
In that case, the holiday schedule will look like this:
March 29 (Saturday): day off for 5-day workers, workday for 6-day schedule;
March 30 (Sunday): Eid al-Fitr;
March 31 (Monday): official day off in lieu of Sunday holiday.
