Uzbekistan to resume production of aircraft
Uzbekistan will resume production of aircraft. This was reported to Sputnik Uzbekistan by the director of the Navoi Free Economic Zone, Habib Abdullayev.

A memorandum was signed between the Directorate of the Navoi Free Economic Zone JSC and the Russian Experimental Design Bureau Pervoe LLC at the INNOPROM exhibition in Tashkent.

The document envisages the establishment of a production facility for civilian manned and unmanned aircraft based on the SP-30 project. It is said that production of 100 aircraft per year will begin in October.

“The total cost of the project is estimated at $30 million over 3 years, based on plans to produce 100 machines in the third year. The first aircraft is scheduled to be launched in October 2025,” Habib Abdullayev, director of the Navoi Free Economic Zone, told Sputnik Uzbekistan.

It is noted that the creation of its own light aircraft and aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles will allow Uzbekistan to return to the ranks of countries with its own aviation industry.

Production is aimed at meeting Uzbekistan's domestic needs, as well as exporting to the countries of the Middle East, Central and South Asia.

For information, the SP-30 is an all-metal, two-seater aircraft, which has already become the most widely produced light aircraft in Russia.
