The fact that about 214 thousand Uzbek soldiers and officers were awarded combat orders and medals testifies to their courage.
During the war years, the country became a strong supply base for the front, delivering a huge amount of military equipment, weapons, clothing and food to the battlefields. Despite the extremely difficult conditions, the people of Uzbekistan took in about 1 million 500 thousand people evacuated from war zones, including 250 thousand orphans who lost their parents.

“These are truly a chronicle of courage and heroism. We should be proud of our courageous people who made a worthy contribution to such a difficult and glorious victory. We must never forget these heroic deeds and convey them to our youth. This is especially important in today's dangerous times. We must all be ready to defend our homeland every day,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
