The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with his wife, arrived in Budapest on an official visit on May 19 at the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
The visit is expected to be of great political and economic importance and mark the beginning of a new stage in relations between the two countries.
Official reception ceremony
At the Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest, the leader of Uzbekistan was welcomed by Hungarian Minister of Economic Development Marton Nagy and other high-ranking officials. During the reception, the flags of the two countries were raised, and an honor guard stood guard.
High-level talks - May 20
According to the visit program, high-level Uzbek-Hungarian talks will be held in Budapest on May 20. It will discuss the prospects for cooperation in the political, trade and economic, investment, innovation, transport, energy, agricultural and humanitarian spheres.
Business dialogues and strategies
During the visit, President Mirziyoyev is also scheduled to hold meetings with Hungarian government officials and heads of leading companies, as well as negotiate bilateral investment projects and agreements.
Participation in the Turkic States Summit — May 21
Another important aspect of the visit is the participation of the President of Uzbekistan in the informal summit of the Turkic States Organization, which will be held in the Hungarian capital on May 21. Issues of developing multilateral relations will also be discussed within the framework of this event.
