
As an important step towards strengthening political and economic ties, official negotiations were held on May 21 in the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia Robert Golob. Following the meeting, a Joint Statement was signed, which envisages taking bilateral relations to a new level.
Within the framework of this meeting, a number of documents were signed, which will serve as the basis for mutual trust, strategic cooperation and sustainable development between the two countries. The document exchange ceremony was held in the presence of the heads of the two states.
Seven important agreements that deserve attention:
1. Agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic passports
With this agreement, holders of diplomatic passports of both countries will be able to travel without a visa. This, in turn, will serve to further intensify contacts between official delegations.
2. Agreement on cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture
The opportunities for student exchange, teacher training, and joint research will be created between universities and research centers of the two states.
3. Agreement on cooperation in the field of transport and logistics
It is envisaged to optimize freight transportation routes between Uzbekistan and Slovenia, create modern logistics chains, and expand the possibilities for effective use of transit potential.
4. Agreement on cooperation in the field of "smart cities" management
Cooperation will be established in the field of digitalization of urban infrastructure, introduction of "smart" energy and transport systems, and use of modern solutions for ecology and security.
5. Agreement on standardization and conformity assessment
It will serve to improve the quality of products and services, adapt them to the requirements of the European market, and increase export potential.
6. Cooperation in water resources management
The agreement provides for the exchange of experience in saving, recycling and effective management of water in the context of climate change. This agreement will play an important role in solving the problem of water scarcity.
7. Cooperation agreement in the field of tourism
The agreement covers issues such as increasing mutual tourist flows, creating favorable conditions for travelers, and exchanging experience in the field of advertising and information.
