Uzbekistan's new passenger airline, Tashkent Air, announced that it will start flights from June 2. The new airline will begin its operations with routes to other major cities in Russia — Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Vladivostok. Flights will be operated from Tashkent, Bukhara, Samarkand, and Termez.
For the flights, the Airbus A330-200 aircraft has been chosen, which is a wide-body long-haul aircraft. Tashkent Air received this aircraft in the summer of 2024 and successfully conducted test flights. On April 30, a flight was made from Tashkent to Moscow, and on May 17, a flight to St. Petersburg.
With the establishment of this new passenger airline, Tashkent Air becomes the seventh airline operating commercial passenger services in Uzbekistan. In addition, Uzbekistan Airways, Qanot Sharq, Centrum Air, Air Samarkand, Fly Khiva, and Asia Union Airlines are currently operational.
Uzbekistani airlines carried 1.7 million passengers in the first three months of 2025, achieving a 16.9% increase compared to the same period last year. This result shows the growing development of the aviation sector in the country and a significant increase in both domestic and international air traffic.
The new flights of Tashkent Air will represent a new step in the country's aviation sector and will contribute to the development of foreign trade and tourism. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
