The chairman who died after the meeting in Furqat is still under discussion

The recent incident that occurred in the Furqat district of Fergana region has caused serious discussions and various doubts among the public. The chairman of Kaldushon mahalla, Sharifjon Abdullayev, suddenly felt unwell after leaving a meeting held at the district hokimiyat and passed away in the hospital. This situation saddened many, and various speculations and conflicting opinions spread on social media.

At the center of the discussion is the meeting conducted in a critical tone by the district hokim, Elyor Asronqulov. According to official statements, on June 18, 2025, a meeting was held with the participation of the chairmen of all citizens' assemblies (mahalla leaders) of the district, where specific tasks were assigned to them.

Although it is stated that critical remarks were made at the meeting, the hokimiyat's press service stated that no insulting or personal remarks were used by the hokim.

During the meeting, Kaldushon mahalla chairman Sharifjon Abdullayev mentioned that he had health problems and expressed his intention to resign, then left the meeting. In the outer courtyard, he felt worse, and emergency medical services were called. Despite all the efforts of the district medical association, he died in the hospital.

This event had a great impact on the public. Messages circulated on social networks claimed that the hokim had behaved rudely during the meeting, and that this pressure caused the chairman's decision and health deterioration. Some internet users are even trying to directly link his death to the hokim’s behavior. However, officials categorically deny these allegations.

The hokimiyat of Furqat district issued an official statement regarding this incident. It emphasized that no rude behavior or insults occurred during the meeting. On the contrary, the importance of the tasks assigned to the chairmen was once again stressed, and they were reminded to carry them out responsibly. Abdullayev stated that he wanted to resign due to health reasons.

In addition, the district medical association also issued a statement. It noted that the patient was brought to the hospital via ambulance, but he passed away due to a serious cardiovascular condition.

It should be noted that Sharifjon Abdullayev was one of the respected and experienced mahalla leaders. During his tenure, several social projects were implemented, and he was often noted for his care about residents' problems.

Currently, there is no information about any official investigation into his death. However, the public demands clarity on such situations. Because such cases are not only about one individual’s fate but also affect the trust within society.

What is clear is that mahalla chairmen are crucial figures acting as bridges between the population and the authorities. Their value, as well as their mental and physical health, should not be neglected. Even if meetings are held in a critical tone, they must be based on principles of humanity.
