A new stage in fruit and vegetable exports: What directions did Mirziyoyev outline?

New tasks and prospects for expanding food and fruit-vegetable exports were discussed in our country. At a videoconference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, special attention was paid to the reforms and innovations implemented in the country’s agriculture sector.

As the head of state noted, over the past three years, 250,000 hectares of land previously allocated for cotton and grain have been reassigned for the cultivation of food crops. In addition, 160,000 hectares of new orchards and vineyards have been created, and 107,000 hectares of old land have been completely renewed. This, in turn, contributes to the improvement of food security and the export potential of our country.

Furthermore, 1,500 new food industry projects worth $1 billion have been implemented. Today, the country has established capacities to store 100,000 tons of products, dry 70,000 tons, and sort and package 46,000 tons. This infrastructure has become an important factor in increasing the competitiveness of our products.

According to the President, consistent reforms in agriculture have also been recognized by international organizations. This month, our country was elected to the Council of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). As the head of state emphasized, this creates broad opportunities for further development of national and regional initiatives and attracting international investment into new projects.

Systematic work continues in the country to ensure food security, open new export markets, and improve product quality. Expanding export geography, introducing innovative solutions, and modern agrotechnologies were among the main topics raised at the videoconference meeting.

New plans, practical measures, and promising projects were discussed at the meeting. According to the head of state, fully realizing this potential will create new opportunities and jobs for everyone. Innovations in the fruit-vegetable and food industry not only develop the country’s economy but also have a direct impact on people’s well-being.
