In total, pensions totaling 6.7 trillion soums were paid to 4.2 million pensioners in Uzbekistan for August. This was reported by the Pension Fund.
The largest number of pensioners in the country was recorded in the Samarkand region - 443.3 thousand people, and in the Fergana region - 494.1 thousand people. In August, more than 700 billion soums of pension funds were allocated to each of these regions. Pensioners in Tashkent received the most pensions nationwide, totaling 823.9 billion soums. According to the Pension Fund, 371.9 thousand pensioners are registered in the capital.
The lowest number of pensioners and funds was recorded in the Syrdarya region - 175.9 billion soums were paid to 107.2 thousand people. At the same time, the share in the Jizzakh region is also relatively low, with 218.9 billion soums allocated to 143.1 thousand pensioners.
In the remaining regions, payments and the number of pensioners are as follows:
Tashkent region - 670.7 billion soums (377.9 thousand people);
Andijan region - 541.1 billion soums (391.8 thousand people);
Kashkadarya region - 596.3 billion soums (376.7 thousand people);
Namangan region - 449.9 billion soums (328.7 thousand people);
Bukhara region - 433.2 billion soums (263.8 thousand people);
Surkhandarya region - 413.8 billion soums (281.6 thousand people);
Khorezm region - 349.8 billion soums (228.9 thousand people);
Republic of Karakalpakstan - 355 billion soums (222.9 thousand people);
Navoi region - 289 billion soums (140 thousand people).
As previously reported, these figures do not fully reflect the total number of pensioners in the republic. In Uzbekistan, the accounting and payments of pensioners from law enforcement agencies are carried out separately. It was also reported that on August 28 of this year, the country's population exceeded 38 million people.
