Two Kyrgyz citizens died from gunshot wounds on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border.

According to the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, border guards of Uzbekistan used weapons in the process of detaining two Kyrgyz citizens, which led to their deaths.

It was reported that on August 25, law enforcement agencies received a report about the disappearance of two people living in the village of Aigyr-Jal, Chatkal district. This report was immediately registered by the relevant authorities, and the situation was investigated.

Later, on August 28, during a meeting of border representatives of the two countries, the Uzbek side announced that on August 15, two unknown individuals were identified in the area where the borders of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan meet. Uzbek border guards tried to stop them, but the citizens did not comply with the requirements, and for this reason, weapons were used. As a result of this tragic incident, two people died from bullets.

On August 31, relatives of the deceased arrived in Uzbekistan, identified the bodies, and they were transferred to Kyrgyzstan for examination. At the same time, it was reported that the property belonging to the murdered individuals - three horses and one tent - was also returned

According to information, the border services of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan plan to conduct a joint investigation and analysis of this tragic situation starting September 2. This is aimed at ensuring border security between the two countries, clarifying the situation, and preventing similar incidents in the future.
