Tighter controls have begun at cheap fairs in Tashkent

Additional measures are being taken at the capital’s markets to ensure transparency and fairness of prices at discounted fairs. This was reported by the press service of the Tashkent city administration.

According to the information, on the initiative of the administration and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, special trade fairs were organized to create convenience for the population and offer various consumer goods at reduced prices. However, in recent days, reports have appeared on social networks that at some stalls goods are being sold at prices different from those officially set. This has caused public discontent.

In this regard, additional measures have been introduced by the authorities to prevent artificial price increases and ensure transparency. In particular, work has begun to install surveillance cameras at the stalls where discounted goods are sold.

According to the administration, so far, the installation of cameras has been completed at the Mirobod farmers’ market and the “Eski Juva” (Chorsu) market. Soon, a similar technical control system will be implemented at all other major markets of the capital.

Officials emphasized that thanks to these measures, the population will be able to truly benefit from discounted goods, while fairness and transparency will be ensured in the trading process.
