Weekly weather: rain, thunderstorms, and cold expected

Weather specialists report that sharp changes are expected in our country in the coming week. According to the press service of “Uzhydromet,” the territory of Uzbekistan will be under the influence of a high-mountain cyclone formed in the south of Kazakhstan. It is noted that this will lead to the arrival of cold and humid air currents.

Starting from September 15, in some areas there is a high probability of short-term rain and thunderstorms. In particular, in the northern part of Navoi region, rain may fall in the first half of the day. On the same day in the evening and at night into the next day, in some areas of the Tashkent region, short-term rains may also fall and lightning may strike.

Residents of the Fergana Valley should prepare for rainy days from the evening of September 16 until the morning of September 19. In other regions, precipitation is not expected. However, in the foothill and mountainous areas, rains with interruptions are expected throughout the working week, and in some places heavy rains are forecast. Weather specialists warn that in some high-altitude areas, rain may turn into snow.

A sharp drop in temperature is expected. On September 16–18, daytime temperatures will drop to 20–25 degrees, and starting from September 19, as the cold air masses retreat, the temperature will rise by 2–3 degrees. This process will also be felt by the population: in the morning hours the chill will intensify, and in the evenings going outside without extra clothing will become uncomfortable.

Wind speed may also increase sharply in some places. According to specialists, in certain areas across the republic, wind speed will reach 13–18 meters per second. This increases the likelihood of dust storms.

For the residents of Tashkent city, the forecast is relatively favorable. The weather will mainly be dry, only on the evening of September 15, as well as during the night and morning of September 16, short-term rains may fall. The wind from the northeast will blow at a speed of 3–8 m/s, sometimes strengthening up to 10–12 m/s. The air temperature will decrease to 20–25 degrees on September 16–18, and on September 19 it will again be around 25–27 degrees.

Such sharp weather changes may affect the lifestyle of the population throughout the week. In particular, people engaged in field work, drivers on the roads, and tourists in mountainous areas need to pay serious attention to safety measures.

Unexpected rains mixed with snow indicate that this autumn season differs from previous ones and is coming with early cold.
