The renowned Uzbek mountaineer Diyor Haydarov successfully conquered Matterhorn (4478 meters), one of the world's most famous and complex peaks, located in the Alps. This achievement is important not only for his personal sports career, but also for the country's prestige in the international sports arena.
The ascent began in the famous Swiss city of Zermatt (1620 meters). Initially, the athlete reached the Hornley shelter (3260 meters) and performed short acclimatization training. In the early morning, the team, moving along difficult rocky ridges, encountered icy sections at an altitude of 4000 meters. During this process, a technical problem arose with Haydarov's crampons, but the experienced climber continued the journey using an ice axe and successfully overcame the difficulties.
Despite the difficult conditions, Diyor Khaydarov climbed Matterhorn Peak in four hours and descended safely in five hours. This ascent required not only physical stability and technique, but also psychological stability and experience.
Diyor Haydarov's previous achievements are also noteworthy. In July 2025, he conquered Azerbaijan's highest point - Bazarduzu Peak (4466 meters). Also, in 2021, he proudly raised the flag of Uzbekistan in honor of the 30th anniversary of the state's independence, climbing the summit of Abu Ali ibn Sina (7134 meters) in the Pamir Mountains.
His latest achievement once again demonstrated the active participation of Uzbek athletes in the international climbing arena. Such successes serve not only as a source of inspiration for the country's sports, but also as a factor of great inspiration and interest in sports for local youth.
