Following disruptions in oil supplies from Russia, Uzbekistan has begun diversifying fuel import routes.
In the first half of 2025, the volume of oil and condensate imported from Russia halved. At the same time:
- Raw materials from Turkmenistan increased fivefold;
- Gas condensate from Kazakhstan increased nearly threefold;
- Gasoline imports increased nearly tenfold;
- Diesel volume increased, but fuel oil decreased, as the country plans to phase it out;
- The volume of aviation kerosene from Russia increased, and a large reserve was created in Tashkent.
Thus, while reducing dependence on Russia for petroleum product imports, Uzbekistan is strengthening cooperation with neighboring Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
