Internet usage in Uzbekistan reaches record high

In Uzbekistan, digital life is steadily developing, and the share of the population using the internet has reached a record level. According to the State Statistics Committee, as of January–August 2025, the share of internet users amounted to 94.2 percent of the country’s population.

This figure clearly demonstrates how rapidly internet infrastructure and digital services have developed in recent years. In particular, in 2021 this indicator was 76.6 percent, in 2022 it rose to 83.9 percent. In 2023, 89 percent of the population used the internet, and in 2024 the coverage level reached 93.3 percent.

As can be seen, over the past four years, internet coverage has increased by almost 18 percent. This shows not only technological progress but also the population’s interest in digital services and their active usage.

Experts note that such a high level of internet activity among the population is raising education, commerce, information exchange, and the service sector to a new stage. At the same time, government services are also gradually moving into digital format, creating convenience for citizens.

According to analysts, the approach of internet user share to 100 percent will lead to further popularization of the digital economy and online services in the country. This process, especially among youth, is opening new opportunities.

Thus, reaching 94.2 percent internet coverage in Uzbekistan is being evaluated as another important step on the country’s path of digital development.
