Uzbekistan has officially concluded bilateral negotiations with the European Union in the process of joining the World Trade Organization (WTO). This was announced by the President's Special Representative for the WTO, Azizbek Urunov, on his social media page.
"This important event testifies to the successful completion of negotiations with 27 EU member states on market access conditions, including in the field of export and import duties and services," Urunov said.
According to him, the EU - Uzbekistan became the 31st country to complete bilateral negotiations. "We also signed an agreement with Panama a week ago. "Currently, negotiations with 31 countries have been completed, and the process is ongoing with only 3 countries," he said.
For information, in mid-September, Uzbekistan signed market entry protocols with Argentina, Australia, and Honduras as part of its WTO membership.
Thus, the country is consistently continuing important steps towards becoming a full member of the World Trade Organization.
