School leaders now receive bonuses based on KPIs

In Uzbekistan, school principals, their deputies, and teachers will receive monthly bonuses based on their work performance, reported the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the new system, the work of educational institution leaders and teachers will be evaluated based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI). The bonuses will be paid monthly according to the number of points earned.

For principals, the bonuses are set as follows: 61–70 points — 3 percent, 71–80 points — 10 percent, 81–90 points — 15 percent, and 91–100 points — 20 percent. For deputy principals, these rates range from 2.5 to 10 percent.

The right to receive a bonus will be granted to individuals who have served in a leadership position at a school for at least nine months. The evaluation criteria include students’ academic performance, achievements in Olympiads and subject contests, creative activity, as well as the effectiveness of educational and moral work.

Additionally, leaders of “Zakovat” intellectual clubs will receive a one-time bonus equal to 50 percent of their monthly salary. Physical education teachers will be awarded up to 20 percent extra pay depending on their performance.

Officials emphasized that this system aims to fairly evaluate teachers’ work, enhance their professional skills, and improve the overall quality of education.
