As part of her visit to Egypt, the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held an important meeting in Cairo with the Grand Imam of Egypt and the head of Al-Azhar, one of the most prestigious educational centers in the Islamic world.
Cooperation for Enlightened Islam
During the meeting, Saida Mirziyoyeva conveyed to the Sheikh the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The main part of the negotiations was aimed at deepening ties between Uzbekistan and Egypt. In particular, an exchange of views took place on issues of strengthening cooperation in the spheres of spirituality, science, and education.
It was particularly emphasized that in the current era of globalization, close cooperation in promoting the ideas of enlightened Islam and protecting the younger generation from the dangers of radicalization is extremely important.
Scientific exchanges will expand
Both sides expressed mutual interest in further expanding contacts in the field of academic exchanges, joint programs, and the study of unique manuscripts. This is especially important in preserving the historical heritage of Islamic civilization and studying it on a scientific basis.
Saida Mirziyoyeva's meeting with the leader of such a prestigious religious and educational center in Cairo once again demonstrated Uzbekistan's commitment to the principles of religious tolerance and enlightenment against ignorance, as well as its desire to strengthen strategic partnership with major educational institutions of the Islamic world.
