
On December 22, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the heads of the CIS countries at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
The event was also attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

During the meeting, the main results of joint work in the current year were summed up, and priority tasks for the coming year were identified. An exchange of views also took place on topical issues of the regional and international agenda.

The importance of creating more favorable conditions for increasing mutual trade turnover, developing cooperation in the field of transport, stimulating the growth of mutual investments and supporting cooperation projects, strengthening partnership in energy and digitalization, expanding joint projects in the fields of science, education, culture and art, as well as developing long-term cooperation between the regions was emphasized.

The need to continue cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the Commonwealth countries, in particular, to support the development of the creative, innovative, and intellectual potential of youth, was noted.
