New Chairperson Appointed to the Tourism Committee

Changes have been made to the leadership of Uzbekistan's tourism management system, as reported by Podrobno.uz.
The Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Umid Shodiev, has been relieved of his duties and replaced by Abdulaziz Akkulov. It was announced that Umid Rustamovich Shodiev stepped down to take on a new role.
He had been leading the committee since July 27, 2023. The new chairman, Abdulaziz Urolboyevich Akkulov, was born in 1985, graduated from the Tashkent State University of Economics, and is an expert in economics and international tourism management.
Throughout his career, he has held senior positions within the "Uzbektourism" National Company, served as the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, and also as the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports. Later, he was appointed as Uzbekistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Arab Emirates.
With Abdulaziz Akkulov's return to the tourism sector, it is anticipated that the industry will gain momentum in development, expand international cooperation, and enhance the promotion of Uzbekistan's tourism potential.
